Design and Specification

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini I8190 is the most premium compact phone put out by Samsung in its generation.
While the name implies that it is a shrunken version of the Galaxy S3, that’s not entirely the case.
The phone is more or less a Halfling of its older sibling.
Measuring 121.6 x 63 x 9.9 mm and weighing in at 111.5g, The Galaxy S3 mini feels very compact in hand.
As mentioned, the phone is an exact replica of the Galaxy S3.
Although the all polycarbonate construction has been replaced with high quality plastic.

The Galaxy S3 Mini comes with a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 233 ppi.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU running on a NovaThor U8500 chipset with 1GB of RAM and a Mali-400 GPU.
The phone runs on Android OS, v4.1 Jelly bean out of the box.

Camera and Multimedia

The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini sports a 5MP camera and is able to capture photos at a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels, along with a LED flash to assist it in low lighting conditions.
Video recording is done with 720p resolution at 30 fps.
The camera app comes with an extensive set of features.
Touch focus, smile shot, continuous shot, and panorama mode etc.
You can also take photos during video recording.

Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini has a long list of connectivity features.
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band 3G.
The 3G connectivity runs on HSPA at speeds of 14.4Mbps downlink and 5.76Mbps uplink.
The Wi-Fi support covers a/b/g/n, with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz band compatibility, along with Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA.
As for Bluetooth, It’s 4.0 LE.
Which is essentially Bluetooth 3.0 which includes the efficient Low Energy mode.
Some regional models of the The Galaxy S4 mini also support NFC.

Battery and Storage

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini comes with a standard 1500 mAH Li-Ion battery with an endurance rating of 42 hours and also offers talk time of 7 hours and standby time of 430 hours on 3G.
Storage is limited to 8/16GB of internal memory and can be further expanded to 64GB using a micro-SD card.
