Design and Specification

The Android 4.2 Jellybean powered iPhone 5 killer and successor to the Samsung Galaxy Crown, The Samsung Galaxy S4 gets an even tighter grip on the smartphone market, and reasserts Samsung’s Android dominance.
The new Samsung flagship improves on just about every aspect of the previous generation, coupling more powerful hardware with another handful of new software features.
With a bunch of new sensors too, the Galaxy S4 aims to be your must-have all-in-one tool.

Under the hood, The Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by a Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 and a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 on an Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset, PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
Out of the box, The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean.

The design is more or less borrowed from the Samsung Galaxy S3, using the same Hyperglazed finish.
The new texture adds a more serious and stylish look, while some minor refinements in the design contribute to the overall appeal.
The back panel is now different, which makes it more eye-catching than before.
The slimmer bezels give you more space for the screen, while the slimmer body has a more high-end vibe.
The black paint job works wonder for the phone.
Oddly enough, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is much easier to handle than the Galaxy S III.
Even though it has a 5 inch screen.
At 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm and 130g, It’s 0.8mm narrower, 0.7mm slimmer and 3g lighter being an upgraded phone.
One of the more noticeable upgrades of the Samsung Galaxy S4 would be the Super AMOLED screen of 1080p resolution.
The impressive thing about this display is that the 441 ppi pixel density makes you forget that it has a PenTile matrix.

Camera and Multimedia

The Samsung Galaxy S4 also has an upgrade for the camera when compared to its predecessor, from 8MP to 13MP.
The camera captures photos of up to 4128 x 3096 pixels with autofocus and a LED flash.
There's also a 2MP front camera and together they can snap a photo or record simultaneously.
As the Galaxy S3 did, the camera sports all sorts of features, including Best Photo, Best Face, 360 photo, and HDR.

Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy S4 starts off with the basics - quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band 3G.
Samsung's latest Android flagship uses Bluetooth 4.0 alongside Wi-Fi support which includes a/b/g/n/ac, as well as the new ac standard, with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz band compatibility.
The Galaxy S4 allows you to share all sorts of media via NFC by simply touching the S4 and other later-generation S devices back-to-back.

There's also an IR-port, which allows you to control various TV's and other devices using Samsung's WatchON app.
And finally, for wired connectivity we have the MHL 2.0 port that allows you to charge the phone, gives you USB on the go connectivity and lets you connect to your PC.
The phone also has the famous S-Voice feature, which can understand voice commands and follow actions such as increasing volume, searching contacts, calling a contact, And Google Now which handles things like sending messages, dialing voice calls, directions etc .
Google Now also launches apps, manages your calendar and looks for nearby places of interest.

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S4 would be the advanced features enabled by the powerful hardware and dedicated sensors.
Air view, Air gestures, Smart stay, smart scroll and smart pause are some of the few features that set this phone apart from its competition.

Battery and Storage

The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a standard 2600 mAH Li-Ion battery with an endurance rating of 69 hours and also offers talk time of 18 hours and standby time of 350 hours on 3G.
