Design and Specification

The Nokia Lumia 625 is the sequel to 2012’s mid-range Windows phone Lumia 620.
Being one of the last phones put out by Nokia before the Microsoft merger, The Lumia 625 is a premium device its own right.
A boosted screen, LTE support, higher clock speeds and full-HD recording support all play in favor of this phone.
Powered by a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait running on a Qualcomm MSM8930 chipset with 512 MB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU, the Lumia 625 runs Windows Phone 8 and is upgradeable to WP 8 Black.
While the display has been bumped up from 3.8 inches to 4.7, The resolution remains 480 x 800 bringing the pixel density down to under 200 pi
At 133.3 x 72.3 x 9.2mm and 159g, the Lumia 625 overshadows its younger predecessor, due to its larger display.
The phones thickness on the other hand, has been reduced by a full 2mm.
Giving it a much more elegant and less bulky feel.
The design of the 625 is what you'd see on most other Lumia devices, a rectangular frame with tapered edges, resulting in a subtly curved back.
The display also features gently tapered edges, which contributes to the overall design aesthetic.
The back cover of the phone is interchangeable and features a matte finish surface that’s very resistant to fingerprints, but still has enough texture so as to provide a good grip.
As a bonus, the phone comes with an extra back cover in a different color.

Camera and Multimedia

The Lumia 625 boasts a 5 MP camera with auto focus which is capable of taking pictures of up to 2592x1936 pixel resolution and 1080p video recording at 30fps.
The camera app on Windows Phone comes preloaded with extensive settings, ranging from scenes and effects to white balance, contrast, saturation, sharpness and ISO among others.
You have a dedicated Macro focus mode, Panorama and Cinemagraph.
The camera also comes with Smart Shoot.
Smart shoot uses Nokias very own Scalado technology.
Technically, you’re shooting multiple photos and you pick which one to save .
You can also pick the best face and cycle through each facial expression a person made while the camera was snapping photos.

Connectivity

The Nokia Lumia 625 has quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, tri-band 3G with HSPA and tri-band 4G LTE connectivity.
On LTE networks, the 625 has speeds of upto 100Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink.
HSDPA offers the standard speeds of 42Mbps downlink and 5.76Mbps uplink.
The local connectivity is covered by single-band Wi-Fi b/g/n with DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot, and stereo Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Data sense.
Bluetooth now offers support for file transfer.
There is Mass Storage mode and you can upload files without needing to install any software.
You also get free lifetime voice-guided navigation, Xbox Live integration and Xbox management.

Battery and Storage

The Lumia 625 comes with a standard 2000 mAH Li-Ion battery with an endurance rating of 49 hours and also offers talk time of 15 hours and 10 minutes and standby time of 552 hours on 3G.
Storage is limited to 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded to 64GB using a micro-SD card.
In addition to your phone storage, you also get at least 7GB of SkyDrive cloud space.
